About Me

Hi – I'm James, and I'm studying Ancient and Modern History at St Hilda's College, Oxford. This means I have experience studying in both the History and Classics faculties, so I’m looking forward to taking on students seeking to study Classics or History.


I have been tutoring weekly for the Oxbridge Launchpad since I started my degree in October and have loved it so far, finding that my discussion-based approach has allowed students to flourish.


When I’m not studying or tutoring, you’ll probably find me playing, coaching, or umpiring cricket at some of the beautiful cricket grounds Oxford has to offer. Because of my coaching and umpiring, I hold an enhanced DBS check with the English Cricket Board.

I’ll help you prepare for the Oxbridge interview by teaching you how to think aloud clearly, respond with confidence, and stay calm under pressure. We’ll practise real questions and refine your approach until you’re ready for anything.

I’ll run a realistic Oxbridge-style mock interview in your subject and give you detailed feedback afterwards. You’ll experience the pressure, the pacing, and the kinds of questions to expect — all in a supportive, constructive environment.
